If you are in Newark to work... Just get a place in Newark. Do you plan to bring a car?
South Orange is building apartment buildings like they are going out of style.

Not staying anywhere near the shit hole. I work in a secure yard in Newark but the crime you don't see that I have is nuts.

Not sure if and how it has changed in the last few years since I lived there but Clifton may be a good option, cheap and close to Newark and relatively safe. Not sure about lodging as opposed to renting but if you get a cheap rental maybe a better option. Unless you need to be with the hipsters crowd then definitely Jersey City but you would have to pay for the proximity to bearded men of questionable sexuality wearing tight pants and walking small yapping dogs…

Looking more towards Bridgewater, or Monmouth county so to have a little life after work while I am there. Can ride cr, hartshorn, rv etc.
