Just a heads up, one of many public meetings is being held on September 27th and they're asking for survey input. Looks like a big concern is illegal offroad vehicles and managing the use of un-improved roads. Talks of a permit system for certain vehicle use.

Wonder what prompted this...illegal vehicle use has been a problem forever.

Wonder what prompted this...illegal vehicle use has been a problem forever.

It’s been in the works for some time. The illegal vehicles are definitely driving this. It’s very similar to what was happening at Chimney Rock though - put more rules on rule following users instead of enforcing rules that are already in place.

Looks like I’ll end up needing to get a permit to ride my moto on the dirt roads down there, if they don’t ban it outright.
