Oh Deer

Hawks don't fly away with anything, at least not something that large. They do their business on the ground with the wings spread covering what they're doing so larger birds (bald eagles) don't come take it. Tear it apart, then fly away with pieces.

Good point. Still doubt they would take on an adult groundhog.

These guys are next level at catching fish.

Usually. Tho I watched a presumably young one fishing on our pond in Florida from our lanai. He must have did five unsuccessful dives in a fifteen minute stretch before giving up and flying off. They eat birds too. Watched one rip apart a dove on our lanai cage last year.

I think they're making progress with plant derived plastic that fully degrades. The problem is getting corporations to pay the higher prices for it. I absolutely hate single use plastic. I won't buy anything in plastic unless I really don't have any other option.

Is aluminum recyclable with the plastic liner in the cans?
The problem is not getting corporations to pay for it - it is getting the end user to pay for it. If the consumers actually wanted it they would pay up and the evil corporation would meet the demand.

Hit a dead deer on the northway at 70+ tonight - think the truck got some air.
was in the right lane, and saw the berries and cherries on the shoulder ahead -
slid left a couple car lengths behind another vehicle - which immediately swerved right.
BAM!

The officer was tending to the car that hit the deer.
🙁
