Places to ride with kid in trailer

Most of my riding is now spent towing my son around in his trailer. So I'm looking for new places to go.
Gravel, smooth dirt or pavement, doesn't really matter, just no road with cars. 2 hrs riding is about all he is good for before he falls asleep. If it has a playground or something interesting to see, like old forts so much the better

Places I have gone so far:
Liberty state park....been there way to many time
Saddle River park...has a couple of playgrounds to stop at
Colombia trail. Fun, but nothing for him to do
Sussex branch trail. Couldn't do all of it with the trailer
D&R..not much to see on the ride around 6 mile
D&L..fun from Easton to Bethlaham, with playgrounds to stop at
McDade trail. Fun with a river to play in
Sandy hook, fun with the old fort and beach
Fort Wadsworth, not as good as sandy hook, but closer to me
Paulinskill Valley trail, just the NE end

So where else should I go?

Road trips: Jim Thorpe, PA and Forbidden Drive in Philly. Both awesome sauce for kids.

Awesome. I rode Jim Thorpe before with the wife, That would be a good place to go back to. Forbidden Drive sound like a great place to try, Thanks

I used to ride loantaka brook reservation in Morristown all the time with the kids in a trailer !! it is still one of our fav family ride today !!!!

The traction line from Madison to Morristown runs for a few miles. Nearly dead straight though, so may be a little boring relative to Loantaka Brook...

Randolph trails, I have gotten more than a hour of moving time there with my son in the trailer.

That nice and close, might go there today
enjoy !!!this place has a lot to offer .. I prefer to park in the south street lot .. that's where the playground is .... there are about 5 miles of paved path with some fire road that criss crosses over it.. its a very nice place

You can ride the Henry Hudson from keyport to the highlands... You'd have to get on the road for about 1 mile though once you get to Atlantic highlands

Thompson Park in Lincroft has about 4 miles of paved path, plus pond, playgrounds, swamp, all sorts of good stuff. And a visitors center and heated facilities, always a plus.

Thanks everyone for the places to go.
I hit Paulinskill Valley again, this time from the South. There was a playground, so we did a 10 mile out and back in each direct with a stop at the playground for the little guy to get out and play

@Supermoto how old is your son? My daughter is 17 months and I have been gradually going on longer rides with her in the trailer, but still really need to stay someone close to home in the event that she gets fussy.

I'm looking forward to taking her on an hour + ride!

He is 14 months. At first he didn't like his helmet and would get cranky after a little while with it on. He is used to it now and I only take it off when he falls asleep. I bring toys, food and water to keep him occupied and try to stop to let him out to run around. But overall he is a pretty chill kid, yesterday was almost 6 hrs door to door with the 1:30 drive each way

Joseph B Clarke rail trail in Rockland. You can park by a playground in Sparkill which sits at the center of a Y. 2 of the legs are paved. The third is gravel and goes along the Hudson up to Nyack. Nice views of the Tappan Zee. Easy bit of flat ride that can take a short 2 hours and a playground. No forts though.

shark river in neptune, schoolhouse road entrance suggested.
Not a long trail, but theres a couple small loops so you can go around and mix it up in direction. Theres also a large field for goofing in, a nice playground, picnic tables, grills, and bathrooms. A pond to explore, and there are some "real" trails (2). We actually managed to take the doggie trailer even on the "real" trails (hidden creek and pine hills) but it was a little rough in spots.
For trails, park in the lot and cross the street. as soon as you enter the trail it splits. Just an fyi the right trail is off limits to bikes for a short way, bikes need to go left. For trailer access, you will need to go down the road a short way and enter by way of the service road entrance, just pop under the gate. Thats what we did. That left section by the entrance will be too rooty and tight for the trailer.

oh, and the paved trail by Allaire. theres a left turn that heads towards a sports complex so you can loop around a bit, dont remember if theres a playground there.

I rode Loantaka Brook for just under 13 miles. Started at the playground, rode everything I could find. And ended back in the playground. Good time. The little guy fell sound asleep...lots of horse crap.

Next stop will be Randolph. Looks like freedom park has a playground. Might drag a long the wifey too

Thanks for all the suggestions
