I can’t Saturday, but can Sunday. As I’m only basically familiar with the park, any intel would be helpful. Where to park, where to go, etc. I have a ebike and can throw the saw in a pack and get to more remote locations. If anyone wants to assist, chime in.

Hey all, I had a quick back-n-forth with Matt

Let's keep the tree work - and resolution to its own thread.
BTW - please let us know when you do work! It is logged, and presented to the land managers.

I have a few pictures, but I would have run out of film if I took a pic of everything.

4 Hours

All trees on the NICA trail, Full Blue Rock Loop
All of Trestle
All Tilcon Lake Trail
The Rail Trail
A section of Morris canal greenway
Iron Gate Trail

This is the first time I've been on the MTB in a bit. It was awesome, and now I'm hurting, which is awesome!

Mega job. Thanks @Patrick !

Today's mission started from the Vistar parking lot. I took care of a fat one on the access road. Then the pair on "under the mulch put" and "Estus hood".. then worked my way over to the massive widowmaker at the entrance of "long Way Round".

I ran out of time at LWR but I was able to coax the bigger 2 of the 3 upside down parts of the crown down to the ground.. what's remaining is unreachable without the aid of a climbing arborist.

So I chainsawed up everything on the ground for easy removal (and easy rerouting) but had to leave it in place due to time constraints. The remaining crown is still a hazard, so best to reroute till gravity and time can work it's magic... Attached are pics of the remaining hanging widowmaker.

I'm back at it tomorrow, all day..

I went in this afternoon and took care of Hally and most of Tally, and white to/from the Saxton gravel lot. Took 4.5hrs to cover 2mi. Hally was a mess! Bill came and helped for about 1.5hrs at the end when he saw my garmin dot not moving (and me not answering my cell). He helped swamp and take care of about 1/2 dozen trees and brought light, carried my pack, etc. HUGE thanks to Bill. I left the one at the bottom of Tally (poison ivy and running low on fuel--went thru 4 tanks), and there are a few widow makers on Hally that may need nature to take them down. A big one at the top of Tally may need to get widened at some point.

Here's what we got today.--A lot of those were double and triple messes. The saw was working way above it's weight class.

Bill picked up some of the small stuff, but there are still plenty of derailleur magnets out there and possibly a few holes on Hally that could use some filling in.

I was out from 11am to about 4pm today. From the Saxton falls trailhead, I cleared the big one on Tally Ho, and got the one nearby on the Pink Connector. Then I repositioned to the Station road lot and did a run along green, Down Skeezix and back up cooler, to another section of green. Several were bonus blowdowns (not tracked). I was getting a little heat exhausted by the end there. My boots gave up the ghost on this run.

Probably not gonna make it on Sunday but was planning to go in tomorrow morning. After talking with Ed it seems like we still need more reports to come in vs just sweeping everything with an extra 40 lbs of gear on the bike/back? Everything south of Hally is uncharted territory? Ed got most of the stuff reported on the Northern side? Patrick cleared everything near Kinney/Lake/Trestle.

Maybe a fun/recon ride in the morning makes more sense?

This is the Strava heat map for the last week. You can almost be certain that everything seeing action on this has had some cutting. The trails that show no heat might be a good place to look if you are scouting.
