Riding 600 miles this month for St. Jude

Hey all,

I've been riding all this month of September to raise funds for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. I reached my original 500 mile goal and am close to reaching 600 miles, all of which has been on 2.2" - 4.8" tires mostly on gravel, singletrack and sand, some pavement, and some fully loaded bikepacking. (I post my rides at @1speeder on Instagram.)

As a 3x blood cancer and bone marrow transplant survivor, riding bikes saved my life and helped inspire many other BMT patients over the years recover from their treatments. (Treatments are toxic and can cause organ failure. Strong, healthy organs bode better for better outcomes. Biking helps with that.) I relapsed twice at Stage 4 and went through four chemo protocols. My younger sister was my bone marrow donor, and my savior. I've been in remission since 2006.

When I was in the hospital for those several years, I'd see the hairless children with chemo pumps attached to them and it always broke my heart. So, I've been a bike riding fundraiser for St. Jude ever since.

If you'd like to help St. Jude during their September fundraising campaign, please feel free to donate at the link below. Thank you for your support!

And, oh yeah, fuck cancer!
