Roll Racing. Wow.

Today I learned of this. Street "legal" plated cars, running down the 1/4 mile, thru the staging lanes, speed matching at the start, launching at like 65 mph.
Lambos doing 210+ thru the traps, in the high 7s and low 8s. WCGW?

Crazy.

I just learned that my best friends kid is all wrapped in this and goes every year to TX2K
I followed him on Instagram and never put this together. They have swaps (like car shows) then roll the freeways.

What's pretty cool now is that you can follow so many of these racers on youtube...Brett Lasala, Cleetus, Steve Morris, etc....some really interesting stuff...and absolutely INSANE amounts of money. Billet engine blocks are everywhere now....chevys, fords, dodges, imports, even the lambo guys are using them.....like that was pretty exclusive to top fuel and pro mod stuff for ever....now, everyone seems to have $15,000-$50,000 to spend on just an engine block.

Street legal is funny. Seeing of these cars at a light and trying to race it... it's like picking a fight with that kid with cauliflower ear, just a bad idea.

ya its funny now that there is really no inspection in most states....so no emissions...just needs street legal tires (and the drag radials now are a STRETCH at best, but legal) Headlights, windows, taillights...bam its street legal. Like brett lasala's mustang or tom baileys drag and drive pro mod camaro........They can and do drive these cars for thousands of miles on the street (as per the rules of a drag and drive event)...but they are certainly not camaros or mustangs anymore....they are full chassis pro mod cars, but they have set them up for street use with radiators, headlights, ability to switch between running on gasoline and methanol etc.
