Route Recommendation

Would like some insight for my first bikepacking/touring trip. I have the route planned out to the southern end of the D&L Canal trail in PA, then doing a tour through Philly while avoiding Kensington, then hopping over one of the bridges (322 likely). Now from here, anyone suggest a route to get to Cape May? Looking to make it safely and maybe scenic. And somewhat direct.

I would plan on using the Ben Franklin Bridge to get across the river from Philly to Camden. Bike lanes on both sides in both cities to get to the bridge. Commodore Barry Bridge (rt 322) is not open to pedestrians.

I don’t know if this helps but I have done Ben Franklin to AC. Maybe somewhere after Winslow to Folsom hit the Black Horse Pike to Weymouth Road down to Estell Manor. I hope this will help you out a little or give you some ideas.

This is some very bad news as I was hoping to see Philly by bike. Whereas now I’ll have to cut it short and head to Camden.

The better parts to see in Philly are all on your route. Heading towards Rt 322 is very industrial and not nice parts. You'll be fine.
