Shoe stretching

just bought a new pair of road shoes and after trying different sizes I landed on a size that fit pretty well... until I start riding and my foot swells a bit and then they are a bit tight and uncomfortable. Has anyone had any luck stretching a shoe? I'm assuming it won't work very well due to the stiff carbon sole

I think high end shoes with carbon soles are less likely to stretch. I had a pair of S-Phyres road shoes and i tried the wooden things and they didn’t work at all. But for a pair of sneakers that were a little tight, they worked great.

Not as good as shoe spray and those wooden shoe stretchers but zip lock bag with water and freeze shoes. Do a couple of times as they stretch a little.
Not sure if I'm reading correctly, but are you suggesting he wears the shoes, put them in zip lock bags full of water and stuff them in the freezer? It may work but I would be concerned with frost bites...

But if he wants to wear them and freeze his feet, well then that'll teach him for being a roadie 🤪

Bought them new off of ebay, so I'm going to have to resell if the stretch method doesn't work
I am having the same problem. Someone said, heat them with a blow dryer after your ride. I did a 20 mile ride today. With out to much trouble. 30 miles is where I had the problem so Wednesday I will try 30. Also I took out my arch supports that I have used in multiple shoes.

Lakes are legit, I got some when I did a gravel bike fit with Don at Halters. They are far wider than the Shimano's that I had been using prior. They are def a big part of the puzzle that is helping with a Morton's neuroma/ toe numbness issue that I have.
