Snakes????

Was riding up from the gravel lot yesterday with a buddy and we both smelled cucumber right about where the large tree sits across the trail. We both thought, that was odd, cucumber growing in the woods?? Fast forward to today and a co-worker, whose boyfriend is a certified snake handler, tells us that Copperheads emit that odor when they feel threatened. Lesson learned for us and a word of caution for others.

Just saw a copperhead on my road, and in the past my yard. A bite will certainly ruin your life for several months.

Uhm, not entirely sure of the ‘science’ behind the ‘cucumber’ smell, and most snakes emit some type of odor when they feel threatened...usually it stinks. I’m actually having a hard time picturing the smell of cucumber for some reason!

Saying goodbye to Cape May. We had a crazy day yesterday. We had a long beach day where I got stung by a jellyfish and then later my son was being less cooperative so I was just waiting to sit down and chill on the couch. Then this happened at 10:30…

You can’t make this shit up. So now I get to be a snake removal specialist and then spend the next 30 minutes checking the rest of the house for any other snakes. Needless to say the wife was shaken and I’m surprised she slept. We are on our way home today so we’ll be leaving the snake pit behind.
