First of all my apologies. I would have posted in Off topic, but apparently there are topics under off topic that this doesn't quite fit in. So I figured general bike would do since this pretty much is about bikes.
I built a website that searches 5 different online MTB retail stores, scrapes all the discounted items and allows you to see all the discounted items, and filter by discount and category. Some of you may be aware of a similar site, MTBbot.com. However it no longer works, as been down for the past 4 months, and no one can get in contact with the developer. Since I found that site very useful when it worked, and wanted the features, I built my own. mtbdeals.openmtb.org
It works really well. Others have found it useful, as well as those who would use MTBbot, no longer can, they have been using this one. So I am trying to get this out there so people who would like to save a buck can.
Currently, I make nothing on the site. The plan is to connect it to affiliate marketing. And while that will provide a small income, the main reason is it makes gathering the discounted items easier. Right now I am manually scrapping the sites and updating the index daily. If I can do it through affiliate marketing, the I would have direct access to a product list, and updating every 6 hours would be automatic.
