On the calendar. Curious, has there ever been discussions of adding trails? Looking at Google maps seems there’s potential.

There are some trails in the north side, west of the main park. Most are moto. There is a nice ridge and access to Zion Rd and Starview (or Murray) with some trails kid built. The stuff to the south of the pipeline west of the trails has quite a bit of wet areas. There is some new property behind the quarry. Might be something to connect.

Also going up the pipeline, there is a lake in the middle of the trail. Crazy. Kinda cuts it off from through traffic.

I've got ideas, but not sure if they want to expands there. Last trail was 7ish years ago ? Chunky monkey.

Thanks for the early bird prework, @Patrick. By the time we got up there with our 20 teenagers, you were already gone. For reference, this was the soggy trouble spot we worked today (pic from this spring). This section was actually worked on a couple years ago and was great...until that giant tree fell right on the old trail. New reroute around was ok, it just needed a little help.

Big thanks to @snashters, @JPark and @Robin for helping out today, as well as a few hiker volunteers. But even bigger thanks to the local Impact Youth Group who brought about 20 teenagers eager to swing some tools! The hike to this spot isn't fun but they were troopers. After some instruction they were lopping, rock collecting, debris moving, armor puzzling machines! Many hands made light work here.
First, we cleared debris and re-established the natural water channel to keep the water moving downhill and off the trail.

Then we basically stole all the rocks from the old armoring under the big tree so we had more than enough good ones and didn't need to search far.

I brought Spartacus and some thought the plan was to remove the giant boulder in the middle of the trail...heck no! This is Sourlands so we collected more big rocks to put in front and behind it to make it ridable!

Then we did a light dirt layer over the rock armoring to lock it all in. Don't worry, those rocks will be poking through the trail surface in no time.

Very happy with how it turned out. Next TM is November 19th (last official one of the year)

I rode it this morning.
It's a really fun section now (in both directions).
Chainring did not hit either and my BB is pretty low.
