Of course I use a brush. It's not like we're on the set of Happy Days here.

I'm a winner of a major award ! ( no - not the leg lamp ) I entered a contest to go Cat-skiing at Whistler Mt. , BC . All expenses paid, round-trip from Newark , 4 nights in the Pan Pacific Hotel right at the bottom of the gondola, cat -skiing , zip- lining . food ... $ 5000.00 value . I thought someone was pulling my leg , but I really was the grand prize winner of this trip for 2 from Outside TV that I entered on-line . Leaving at the end of the month !!

Awesome! The PP is a sweet hotel. I hope this is a real deal and not some hustle that requires you to move to Nigeria. Enjoy!!

Thanks - yeah I thought the same thing when I first got the email . I thought maybe I was a winner of a coffee mug or something . When I called , she said nope- I was the GRAND prize winner ! Never won anything in my life so it took some convincing - like seeing my name on the website . Airline tickets all ready to go in 2 weeks . Can't wait to finally ski true powder for the first time in my life .

Nice!

What about combs and brushes for beards and mustaches?

Maybe they brush their beards in Wisconsin. Perhaps Jim will enlighten us after he defrosts from Tuscobia.

I'm going on 6 months with my beard now. It's actually to the point now that I need to comb it since it gets pretty knotted when I sleep. I hit it after I shower and marvel at the beauty of my majestic chin mane which is made much more beautiful by the light touch of a fine polymer comb.

is there special beard product, or does the hair stuff work?

how would you rate your beard on a scale of 10, with 10 being epic? We are going to have a poll soon🙂

how does this one stack up to your other attempts?

its not raining, but i've already been on the bike, so........

I have not stolen this thread in some time. But I see it has popped up today so why not? I know the day is almost over, so it will mostly go vaguely noticed. But I have nothing to do with the next 10 minutes of my life so I might as well sit here and say something, anything that comes to mind.

I have to admit that the winter riding competition this year is actually motivating me. I am currently bringing a cold through my system so the last 2 days I had to dumb it down and just get the job done. But this is life, this is riding, and I guess you could say "training". Am I training? I don't know.

Utah asked me the other day what I was training for. I told him everything. I don't train for a thing, I train for all the things. I train to try and be fast from Jan 1 to Dec 31. So in that sense, I am training for 2015. That's vague, and in a way it sets me up both for success and failure. How can anyone succeed at an entire year? Likewise, how can anyone fail?

I'm just going with it for now. I like getting out. And contrary to popular belief, I do like riding my mountain bike. But as I told D the other day, Ted2 (I named it Ted2 since this is frame #2) is like a high-maintenance girlfriend. You always end up having to do this or that to the damn thing to keep it working. Today was the 8th straight day in a row on the MTB and I'm fairly sure by day 10 something significant will break. That's the way it goes with this bike.

Anyway, until that happens I'm going to ride it out and enjoy it, and use the competition to get me out the door. After last week, this week is like riding in Florida. Looks like temps are going to creep up in the next few days so it won't be terribly hard to get out.

I have absolutely nothing real to say but then even when I think I have something to say, is it terribly real? Words. A picture is worth 1000 of them, this may be true. But what if the picture is worth 1000 times the word "ham". Sounds like a pretty shitty picture to me.

I have some things to catch up on that were mentioned on this thread earlier. I'll get to them, especially the Earl Campbell question that Utah asked. Matty thinks I say Utah's name too much, but then, maybe he's never been to Utah. I don't know, though it would be ironic since his daughter now lives in Utah. And I went to Utah once. And Utah used to live in Utah. And at Circuit City the other day they were playing high res clips of Utah.

So the crossword the other day. A 4 letter state. Any ideas what that might be? Ends with H.

Too much ham, like 1000*Ham:
