Stephens State Park Conditions

Bill and I rode Stephens this morning. We took care of Round the Firetower in Post #1,744 and Land of the Lost (Beavers) in Post #1,751.

That clears all known (reported) blowdowns at Stephens.

Some of the lower stuff will be soft after thawing out (blue rock, trestle, mazes) but pretty much the whole park should be good to go in the freeze.

I only ride the upper sections yesterday which were very good frozen conditions.

Went in to get some reported blowdowns in the mazes. Was expecting 3-4, but ended up clearing about 10-12 trees just on lower and middle maze. Tuned some things up once we realized that was all we were getting to today. Thanks to Mark P for the assist. It was about 22F when we started.

I went back this afternoon with a pole saw and got rid of a vine hanging widow maker on lower.

Lower/Middle were still firm.

Besides the ones on under the mulch and swamp and chop above, I'm also tracking that there is a larger one down right by the rock garden on Vistar and another on Blue by chimney.
