Surly Straggler Sizing

I am looking at picking up a used straggler with drop bars. It is a 56, I am 5’10” with a 30” inseam. I hear these fit weird, is this bike going to be too big? It’s a mail order deal so swinging the leg over is not in the cards.

Otherwise I think I may just pickup a new Salsa Cutthroat Alex 1....

I am also 5'10" with a 30" inseam. I own a 54 Straggler. I'm comfortable on it. No issues but pretty sure i'd be fine on a 56 too.

The only weird fit aspect of surly’s I’ve noticed is the short head tubes. I like to run the minimum amount of spacers for aesthetics and surly makes that hard. I’d make sure the fork isn’t cut really short to ensure adjustability, but other than that the frame shouldn’t run big.

For now yes. I notice fit on these is super finicky compared to mountain bikes. Moving the seat in small amounts makes a huge difference.

Just put it on the top of the bearing cap and do some yoga
