Tatum Park

I'm new to mountain biking and I would like to try to ride Tatum Park. Any thoughts and if it does rain on Sunday do they close the trail/s?

Sorry for the noob questions. Thanks in advance.

Tatum doesn't have much of a trail system. Its ok if you're local and want to check it out but If your driving from a distance Hartshorne is a better option.

Also trails are usually not closed by the park system after rains. Its up to the discretion of the trial user to stay away if there is a good chance of damaging soft trails.

Tatum is not a bad place to start out on the mountain bike... A lot of open fields and some single track, some hills but nothing too difficult... Hartshorne can be a bit daunting if just starting out... There is a race each year at tatum called woods hollow, google that and you may find the course, it goes for about 4 1/2 miles or so... Do it front and back and it will be a good beginners ride... Nothing too technical either...

Another option would be huber woods, It is not as technical as hartshorne, but you still have some hills.
