First time I've been on this bike all year. Forgot how much I enjoy it.

Also first time on flat pedals this season... I'd forgotten a bit how well this bike climbs. Assuming I can get the power down. With the 34t front ring (I have it set up primarily for park riding) it often felt like I needed one more gear...

And holy shit - my riding buddy Tom got a new bike! 😱

Yeti SB165. This is partially my fault as I stumbled across it on Jensen for a blow-out price and sent him the link about a month ago. For better or worse, he still likes 27.5" bikes so he kinda has few choices and a lot of choices. Not many left, but those out there are pretty cheap. Really quiet as he was riding through the rocks. It is amusing to see such a modern bike with toe clips.

I was kinda planning to ride the Megatower again today, but when it turned out to be a small group and everyone was on ebikes, I decided to go with that option... turns out my legs were thankful for that choice.

and after riding them back-to-back, the Heckler and the Megatower definitely have a similar ride feel.

For sure. I usually get hung up on that damn root but I managed to clear that section today. I wish I knew what I did so I could duplicate it!
