Ok... I'll see if I can play a bit during Feb. although work is making evening rides difficult these days... although I do hope to get me indoor setup running soon.

Groundhog Day:

Work has been insane lately and I finally got out to ride Sunday morning.

Tom was feeling "off" today... tried this log feature 4 times and couldn't clean it.

The trails were mostly frozen solid with a few soft spots where the sun was stronger and with a few icy spots. This one was most challenging to clean since it was sloped down/away from where you wanted to go. I found I could hug the rocks on the right side (left in the pic) and then a short cut across the ice to the end.

Taking a more passive approach to participating this month but it’s still fun to follow along.

After taking 2 days off the bike doing some more dynamic stretching and mobility, and then 30 minutes on the rower yesterday I felt like I wanted to get a nice road ride in today with forecast in the 40s. Then this stupid snow happened and we got like 2” or so here so the roads were still slushy and very wet when I wanted to leave.

Went to Columbia trail again with my wfh riding buddy and his Fatbike and we drove over just to avoid the 1.5 slow slog on the road with low tire pressure.

We were having fun making first tracks until
3 miles in he got a flat again. Hit it with some co2 so he could make it back. Mutual agreement that I would continue solo. This time there was just enough powdery snow to make it grippy but nothing was frozen to make it choppy with post holes. I was navigating carefully tho as I knew there was plenty of ice underneath. Again I picked up the tire tracks of some MCP vehicle for a few miles and decided at the fallen tree it was a good time to turn back.

Had fun and a decent workout outside since later this week will definitely be more zwift.

I was just telling my wife about Lincoln Park. That patch of grass...that's it! That's the entire park.

Anyway, what does the yellow light under your Varia do?
The yellow light is a Cycliq Fly6 Camera. I have a GoPro on the front pretty much as a dash cam in the front and the back. I have had some close calls and the footage can be useful in case of an accident.
