Transplant from CO

Greetings! I joined awhile ago but I am finally posting an intro. I moved here from Colorado two years ago. Yeah I know, pretty crazy, but I got recruited out here and got a job offer I couldn't turn down. So far NJ and the East Coast have been good to me and my family.

I'm an 'older' rider at 44 and get out somewhat infrequently, but I'm fortunate enough to live close to Round Valley Recreation Area, and love to ride the Cushetunk Trail there when I can (I rode it yesterday to the far side of the res). It's got some pretty steep climbs and some nice technical sections - a great challenge for me. I've also ridden the Columbia Trail as a mellow conditioner/family ride. That's about all the riding I've done so far, but I'm looking forward to riding more trails and meeting more riders.

I keep a 26" Santa Cruz Blur LT and a 29er hardtail in my quiver. I try to stay in decent shape but I'm all about having fun. Shoot me a message if you ever want to ride. I'm good for a post ride beer or three as well. I'll try to become more 'active' around here. Cheers! 😉

Welcome aboard! I'm in the area as well. Check out chimney rock in Bridgewater. It's about 20 min from you. Do you do any road riding? There are great roads around here!

Thanks! I've heard about Chimney Rock and will check it out soon.

I've resisted road riding for many years as I'm deathly afraid of cars, but I admit I'm getting interested. I put slicks on my 29er and rode the NYC Five Boro Bike Tour a few weeks ago with my wife and friends. I enjoyed it when I wasn't avoiding smacking other riders. Maybe I'll take up road biking soon!

Welcome! Good to have another local out here in central jersey....

Chimney works - more challenging would be over at the sourland mountain preserve. there are also some trails down in lambertville.

we'll get you a proper tour.

when do you ride?
