Hey Guys,

Going to be converting my fat ride to tubeless shortly. Just curious on the amount of sealant you are using, I've read anywhere from 4 oz up to 8 oz per fat tire. I have the sun ringle mulefut rims with 4.8 minion fbr/fbf. I've been doing a lot of reading about stans vs orange. Orange seems to be getting incredible reviews. Also, I know it's highly subjective, but what kind of tire pressures is everyone running? thx

I use bontrager TLR 4 oz. On hard pack trails i run around 11 front n 12 rear with 4" tires on 90s

I use ~6 oz stans in my 4.8s and run 5-6 psi in most conditions.

Those mulefuts setup great with 2.88" gorilla tape btw. If they have the really wide rim strip, I'd cut it down a bit for more tape adhesion to the rim. For this particular set my buddy wanted green so I used 2 wraps of green duct tape as the rim strip.

Thanks @C8N!! Can't download any pics, it says files are too large.

@sk1er18, that's the same set up I'm going with, already purchased the green duct tape. Did you start/stop the gorilla tape at the rim bead?

You want to get the tape as far as possible onto the bead so the tire sits on it.

The seam you see in my picture is the second layer overlapping the first wrap. One wrap for each bead.

I use around 6 oz of stans for 4" tires and sometimes 8 oz for 4.7" tires. Where I ride, there are a lot of thorns, so it can look like a bad porno if I get off the trail.

I run 11 psi on my FS fatty and anywhere from 3 to 15 on the hardtail depending on what trail I am riding

I've been using 4 to 6 oz in my tubeless set ups, but I my widest rim is 70mm. I have tried various tires over time and some use different pressures than others, so it's an experiment. I usually end up in the 7 to 8 psi range. I currently have the 4" version of the Minions on my fully. They have a pretty stiff sidewall. With 8 psi I felt like I was bouncing off everything. I'm down to 6 1/4 psi and it has been working well. I also weigh about 170 fully geared so YMMV.
