upgrading FatBoy to Shimano 1x11?

My front derailleur just bit the dust and I'm taking it as a sign that it's time go 1x11. Has anyone gone the Shimano m8000 route, and if so, can you advise on how you like it and how you made it work? I see the crankset here:

but unclear on how you get that to work with the 100mm BB.

You don't need a new crank. Just shifter, der, and cassette

i enjoy my 1x11 m8000 very much. especially since i can use my OG freehub body.

So just put a single ring on the Samox and swap the rest? That makes sense.

Find out the current BCD, and then just find any Narrow /wide chain ring that fits.

I'm running a wolftooth ring. Any narrow wide wood be recommended.
