My last 5 trucks all had Bose stereos. Nothing spectacular, but good enough that I was never motivated to spend enough to upgrade them. Our new Mini has a Harmon Kardon that's really impressive.
The Land Cruiser on the other hand came with their "Premium" 14 speaker JBL system that is as underwhelming as it could be. The highs are there, but not much else the way Toyota equalizes these trucks. At a minimum I'd like to add a hidden powered Sub. I'll probably sound deaden all the doors first as it's a known issue and that's how they saved some money compared to the Lexus.
Beatsonic makes an inline amp that's plug and play that gets decent reviews but it leaves the stock useless sub in the hatch. Haven't played with car stereos since the 70's and 80's when I was the one who installed the Blaupunkt and Aplines in all my friend's cars. Powered Subs weren't even a thing back then.
In the long run if I get a sub it will be something that can be hidden, but just curious if anyone has anything laying around they're looking to get rid of cheap. Really just want to see if a Sub alone will solve my issues.
