Today was the most fun I've had on a bicycle in a long time. The course was awesome, the race was well run, and I got a killer T-Shirt to boot. It was good to see so many people enjoying themselves.

It was a good race, well run. Thanks to everyone who promoted and made it run as smooth as it did. To who picked out the race course, I thank you too. The course was very nice. I feel I had a good race, next time I'll try to go a little faster. See everyone at the next race.
 
yup lots off fun. they took tons of pics can't wait to see them. shaggz was that you i was talking to at the start? 30-39. mare got me real excited when she said "you're done? its not even 10.00 yet." i thought i had my lap under an hour. but it was prob the most i've pushed myself in a loooong while and had a ton of fun. to anyone thinking of trying a race. DO IT the vibe is great and you will feel a sense of accomplishment at the end. can't wait for the next one (inNJ)...side note congrats PTB66. 4th place is real good you sand bagger:rofl:
 
Me and the family had a great time as spectators!!! We got alot of pictures and my daughter had a good time cheering everyone on yelling "GO GO GO" 😀

Next race that occurs in NJ I will definitely be in CAT 3 racing myself 😎

I've got tons of pictures I will post up as soon as I crop and clean them up.

i would have won my category until my brand new chain broke 🙁

First time in Cat2 and all I can say is I'm out my league. But after one spilled and 2 chain skipped on my first lap and 1 chain skipped and 3 cramps (both legs and right calves) on the second lap I'm happy to say that I completed the race. I almost gave up when I hit the wall :drooling: but manage to psyched myself up to finish the race. I had a lot of fun and can't wait for those action photos. 😀

To TonyC nice talking to you even for a short time, I couldn't keep up with you anymore when my legs locked up on our second lap after those rock gardens right after the gas line.
 
1st race ever for me too. Amazing experience, and I will surely race again. Incredible how challenging & tough during it, but the feeling when you get to the end is worth it. Still enjoying it...and got a cool t-shirt too!

Had a good time out there and the vibe was very cool. I gotta say I was nervous as a mo-fo before we started. After that I was too busy gasping for air for the next hour. Pretty sure I was blowin spit bubbles at one point.

Pretty cool Sh!t...So I go over to where Chainsaw and Sircrashalot are parked to introduce myself and TommyCrash comes over and shakes my hand and holy crap...Turns out Tom and I went to elementary/Jr High together and knew each other pretty well back then....Good times!

When will the pics be posted of SCAL's "bear attack"?...ouch.
 
Thanks for a well organized race, and congratulations to all that finished or gave it their best. Definitely a tough race to start off the season. Great course which really benefited the skilled riders, I just wish I was one of them....

Two laps was plenty, gotta hand it to the cat 1 guys/gals doing three.

great race...

first one in almost 3 years for me. Got slowed down by mechanical problems and the extra 15lbs of weight I'm carrying. Thanks to all the people taking photos.
 
Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who had anything to do with this event, It was very well done.Me......... well I got past the first third of the Race in pretty good shape even though I was a little winded but started recovering quickly and got into a good flow passing some people and at the 7mile mark I SNAPPED A BRAND NEW CHAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Got off the bike, took out my chain tool and spent about 10 minutes getting it back together with help from my riding partner Fred who I could not thank enough. We obviously were getting passed constantly while this was going on. We took off on a mission, finished and the chain broke again. Thanks SRAM!!!!!!You let me down when I needed you most. But I finished.

Nice talking to you, also. It made those longer gravel climbs more enjoyable. It was my first Cat2 and thought what did I get myself into 🙂

Just glad I finished. Great course great flow, loved it.
