Eww🙁 It's gonna be pretty muddy and soft. Might be best to let the trails dry a few more days.

Did Cherry Ridge from one side to the other yesterday. Don't even waste your time going, the down hills felt lke ups plus add in the ice still left over.

it wasn't bad, a little soft and slow but certainly not a mud pit, definitely not enough to leave tire ruts or anything but i don't think anyone's crushing strava times today . the only part that sucked was the rock crossing over the lake on the pumphouse trail... it's under 6-8 inches of water with submerged ice, so i sacked up, whipped off my shoes and socks, and bear-footed it. it hurt. otherwise it was definitely better than taking down christmas decorations.

I figured Jersey riding was out of the question with the rain, so I skipped town and rode Mt Penn in PA (Reading). Trails were in great condition, only mud/soft spots we encountered was the last mile on Wizard of Oz back to the car. This place drains well and we didn't leave any ruts.
Good ride today.

Hi OTRA,
Where is this and how far from No NJ? Very techy, say compared to Waway?
Thanks,
MW

Hey MW- It's in Reading, PA. Mt. Penn is also sometimes referred to as Antietem. About 2 hours from central Jersey, so maybe 2 1/2 or so for you. Some sections have the tech rocky sections similar to Waway or Jungle, some more, some less. There are a lot of features - a downhill jump section (there's a DH race here in the summer - features a sick road gap), a few other trails with huge embedded boulders but rideable, Long Face - which is a severe downhill drop, loose, steep, twisty - again rideable if you know it. And many other great things. Much harder than French Creek if you're familiar with that at all.

Thanks, I'll have to work this into my plnas for this year.
