Wow, ok, another week!

Olympics

I am sad to see it go. I have really enjoyed these past 2 weeks, and for those of you subscribed to Peacock for the month, make sure you go and cancel it.

I still think handball is absurd, and frankly breakdancing may be more absurd than that.

Blogs & Content

Every August brings about a lull on the board. Between the dreary heat and family vacations, people just aren't around as much. Thankfully we've seen a reprieve from the odious heat the past few days and it was actually nice out.

Pickings are slim this week, really:

1. Frank just checked in
2. JimV is still riding
3. Cole is building stuff
4. New wiki content for Rockland in CT

I didn't blog as I have not worked on my own trails and it rained.

Local TM Notes

I got out to Cromwell and then Cromwell again. I was really hoping to get this done before I left for Ohio but that's not going to happen.

Overall, again, August remains pretty light.

I too love watching the summer olympics. Watched all of the cycling events live on Peacock, but most others in the evening on the re-broadcast every night. Had to be extremely mindful of YouTube tho, because i would hop online and there would be a video from NBCSports with the highlight "....so and so won gold and broke 17 records..." and i'm like well fuck you just ruined it lol. I mean, i know the info is all over, but sometimes I like to not know the ending to everything before i watch.

The net effect for me was that over the last 2 weeks, I have taken in less SM than ever. I would avoid IG until 11pm, when we were done watching for the day.

So fun fact more than 1 person who watched Olympic mountain biking but doesn't know the first thing about biking has come up to me to ask me if that is what I do.

I'm like .... 100% yes ... most loosely since it does involve a bike haha

This summer between the TdF and then the Olympics I was on a major sports rush watching the coverage and events.

Also sad to see it go but very happy Breaking isn’t going to be part of 2028. I’ll save those comments for the Olympics thread but Sheesh that was ridiculous.
