Weekly MTBNJ Highlights - July 15, 2024

Norm

Mayor McCheese
Team MTBNJ Halter's
I am bored at work and Johnny wants me to post more.
  • I guess this is the last week of the TdF? I have not followed that thread. I find it hard to really get into it, as I don't know anyone anymore.
  • We had the Six Mile ride yesterday - it was hot, and minimally attended. But I think it was good
    • Next month the team will likely focus on helping at Cranks so there will be no August ride
    • We will be looking to do the Schilling ride in September with maybe a BBQ to follow
  • I am going to go to RV today with the eBike and a Chainsaw and finally cut out those trees. I'll post later in the RV conditions thread
  • Kirt made some more changes to CR. Maybe he'll post later in the CR thread
    • We did some work on Friday as well but it was pretty minimal
  • Fun Monday is tonight
  • If you ride on the road I cannot recommend the Varia highly enough
  • Fuck it, free shed
  • What do you rub on your ass when you ride you bike?
  • I have not ridden Jungle nor Nox this year. I may try to get D to do both of them this coming weekend
  • I just saw on IG that OhWowCow was voted like the 3rd ice cream shop in the country and #1 on the east coast. See above statement about Nox and how that relates to this
  • It's hot, so dreadfully hot
Tell me what I missed.

I will likely not do this next week. Or maybe I will. In other words, Good night, Westley. Good work. Sleep well. I'll most likely kill you in the morning.

Ummmmm... 2015?

Oh Wow Cow #1 on the East Coast?? I've been to a lot of independent ice cream shops all over the East Coast (long story...) and while it's definitely a good shop, I don't know if I'd put it at the top of the list. So far, my favorite is Dunne's near the Nubble Lighthouse in York, Maine.

I'm taking this Friday off work, seems the heat is going to break and it's predicted to be a really nice day. Who want's to ride with me, thinking maybe a Creek run or Trexler.

FYI - Nox got slammed with storms a couple of nights ago and there are numerous trees down and trails blocked. Currently the trail system is closed, per the Ride Nox FB page.

Forgot there is still a bunch of us idiots riding everyday is weather that sucks to ride in...

I saw that. The OwWowCow plans will need to be deferred. Sad days.

Ah bummer, I was in York with the family last year and we didn't try it.

While I'm not actively looking, I have not found anything better than Gabriel's Fountain in Bridgewater. We are likely headed to New Hope this weekend so I might convince everyone to walk across the bridge was try out Oh Wow Cow
