What are you cooking right now?

Totally failed on Xmas cooking.
Xmas eve we did a great meal swap with my wife’s fam- pumpkin/veggie lasagna was her contribution, ham, string beans and focaccia was delish.

Christmas Day we realized we hadn’t thought things through.
Breakfast was this

Ooops.
Going to make up for the oversight NYE/NYD. Stay tuned.

New York thin strips on the pan with vegetables, placed the veggies on top of the strips and covered the pan so the steam would cook the veggies & I got to try a well balanced Habanero sauce that delivers a punch of taste at a moderate heat level 🙃IMG_20201228_193947332.jpgIMG_20201228_195757170.jpgIMG_20201228_195812684.jpg

NYE/NYD double feature!

So we had all the plans for NYE.
Eyes were bigger than our stomachs, because we didn’t make it past the apps.
All good, because we had nothing planned for NYD.

NYE

Not pictured is a salad that sealed the deal for the night.

Picking up where we left off on NYD.
After a NYE hike we found a new local farm that had all sorts of stuff in addition to their own. They hit philly fish market for sushi grade fish 1x/week, and also get some amazing mushrooms from central PA. E3C11019-6215-45EA-9295-DE96AF0A2D3F.jpeg

The wife made roasted hot honey shrimp and bok choy, with Kimchi rice. And a Mikkeller subway mosiac IPA. All the flavors of Korean but the roasted and honey gives it a nice twist. Eatin good in the neighborhood.

FYI, my wife has been asking for me to post a photo of her dinners to the board since she stumbled upon this thread. 😂

Siracha based fried chicken thighs, honey butter, and I cheated and used Pillsbury biscuits, cause I didn’t have butter milk. Got this one from Sam the Cooking Guy on YouTube

These were phenomenal. The honey butter was the cherry on top.
