This has crossed my mind, I need to pull out the ECM and see if it's a stock chip in it. I have the equipment to flash a chip back to stock (or anything else really) so that would be an easy thing to fix. More likely though is a fuel filter that needs to be replaced, or an injector that's slightly clogged. The injectors in these cars don't do well after sitting a bit.Check the previous owner didn't chip the ECU. I was still into old Hot Rod and Car Craft magazines back when these cars were new and I vaguely remember those early chip "upgrades" being a thing.
However, I drove it to work today and when I got home I noticed coolant on the passenger floor. Changing the heater core will be the next project for the car, but that's gonna have to wait a bit due to other house projects.
