This has crossed my mind, I need to pull out the ECM and see if it's a stock chip in it. I have the equipment to flash a chip back to stock (or anything else really) so that would be an easy thing to fix. More likely though is a fuel filter that needs to be replaced, or an injector that's slightly clogged. The injectors in these cars don't do well after sitting a bit.

However, I drove it to work today and when I got home I noticed coolant on the passenger floor. Changing the heater core will be the next project for the car, but that's gonna have to wait a bit due to other house projects.

Unplugged it numerous times. I've got one AI saying it's a setting and another saying it's pin #5 of the connector at the door handle though that one was never touched. I usually use the key fob to unlock anyway so this will wait until a cooler day. The one thing that makes me think it's not a setting is the fact that everything works normally on the other door.

I had picked up some sound deadening materials on Prime Day for the Land Cruiser. Watched a bunch of videos and figured I’d give it a shot.

I knew to stay away from the handle as people said material around there could prevent the key fob from working. Everyone said the hardest part was just removing the panels. That all went smoothly and got almost finished when I tried to test the door locks. Key fob works perfectly, but the touch sensor on the handle stopped working. Then the auto folding mirror stopped, then the main switch stopped. That handle is the one wire I never went near. Spent several hours taking everything apart and putting it back together again checking every connection numerous times. Ended up throwing a bunch of codes which needed to be cleared several times.

That’s the short version. As of right now everything is working except the touch sensor on my handle will lock but not unlock. I’m pretty sure something still needs to be reset but I can’t figure it out. I really don't want to bring it to the dealer to fix this.

I was about to say you've upset the Ghost of Lucas, but then I see you have a Land Cruiser and not a Land Rover... So I got nothing.

When I was car shopping I noticed dealers do this all the time. I would just never offer the dealer more than the lowest price it was listed for unless they made some improvements to car. My car was traded in with two dents that they didn't touch. If they just did the repairs, they didn't update the photos or Carfax.

Enjoying it so far. Would have preferred a better sound system and I hate all the modern safety features. The front cross traffic alert is annoying and is one of the items that re sets every time you shut off the car. Really would appreciate a larger gas tank too.

I’ve received more compliments on the truck in the past month than I did in 25 years of driving Suburbans.

Hoping to get it off road at some point.

All the nannies are part of the reason the 10-20 year old ones are so expensive. No one wants to deal with that crap.

I do remember in our Turo rental the range was not great...under 300 miles I think. But overall I thought it was comfy, capable, torquey, and cool looking.

There are couple of aftermarket auxiliary tanks available but right now they're selling for $2-3K plus labor. Not worth that. For some reason they only installed an 18 gallon tank in the USA but 29 gallons overseas so people are trying to get a hold of those too. Now there's just a big open space under the truck where the rest of the tank should be.

It wasn't fun filling up a 31 gallon tank in the Suburban but I got used to having a 500 mile range.

Forgot to mention above, the unplanned for benefit of being able to run my house off the 2400W outlet when we lost power for 3 1/2 days.

Man, 29 gallons would be great.

My 911 has the extended range tank, really meant for the track guys. It was $230ish. Cheap by Porsche standards. But 23 gallons means 500 mile range unless you're really ripping on it for hours. Even then, it's 400.
