What non-alcoholic beers have you tried?

Way back when i was bar tending in college, we had a couple non-alc beers.
Kaliber comes to mind. Might have had Busch NA. They were not good.
Well 40ish years have passed, and I see that there is advertising in this space
in the sports stories and workout pages. (i see Athletic Brewing quite a bit on FB, even before mentioning dry January)
Gotta guess that they did some science, and maybe it got better (like lowering the atmospheric pressure to get alc to boil off at room
temp, vs heating the mix, and ruining the developed flavors)

Anyway, I like beer, but I want to cut down on the alc.

Post up which you liked, which you hated.

And remember, there are people here who may be sensitive to what you post.
I wouldn't want you to get put in the box.

Learn to like fruit. There are tons of ginger/root beers that are low/no alcohol. Every Acme I've been in has a ginger beer that's in a 500ml bottle that's pretty good. Next time I go there, I'll have to grab the name.

Outside of that, no idea. Malta Goya? Ovaltine with seltzer?

Non alc try #1

Heineken 0.0

I like heinys - it was always a goto with my Dad.
Drank Heineken Light for a bit, but it usually meant drinking way too many.
Better beer came along.
The 0.0 reminds me of H.L. just a bit lighter.
No extra/strange tastes or smell that would indicate
it is anything but beer. It is very light, but that is part of the style.

Had it with a burger tonight. Hit the spot.

I do like ginger beer, but i interpret it as "sweet" - and doesn't pair well with meat for me.
would drink on ice when hot out.

Athletic Brewing Free Wave is by far the best NA IPA I've had. Run Wild is good too. Cerveza Atletica if you want a Corona like beer, All Out Stout was a decent stout, little thin and Free Wave was OK.

My go to has still been the 0 cal, 0 carb Lagunitas Hoppy Refresher seltzer. Tastes like a super light session IPA. Perfect post ride refreshment IMO.

Have you tried any vinegar based beverages (shrubs)? Not beer - but fancy fancy cocktails. I’ve done a few here and there. Kinda weird at first, but some aren’t too bad.

Following this thread, I really like the taste of beer and could care less about the alcohol aspect of it. I'd be totally happy if I could have all the taste and mouth feel without getting buzzed(don't care for that part too much).

Just drink seltzer yo.

seltzer sucks. even with lime. it doesn't pair well with fat either. (the food kind, it probably is a great choice for a diet)
it does make a good decoy drink tho, when people make fun of ya for not drinking alc - you know, being childish.

Categorically, for fermented, (legally) non-alcoholic beverages, kombucha is pretty tasty. There's always a ton of them at Weggys and Costco rotates some stock. Plenty of sold flavors and a few wacky ones with spices. Legally i think they have to be 0.5 or 1.0% max to be sold as non-alc, is that the same for beer? Conceptually, I like the approach of being a beverage made from the onset as being non-alc rather than starting with alc and going backwards from there. Though i've not tried anything other than old Cutter or ODouls back in the day to just the current crop of craft attempts.
