Wheel Builder Cannondale 3mm Ai Question

I just picked up a 2022 Scalpel. I want to re-dish my rear wheel 3 mm so that it conforms to the Ai offset. My understanding is that Boost rear spacing is only a 3mm offset.
The wheel is a Reserve 27 which has offset spoke holes. The question is for anyone who has experience with the building wheels is do you recommend doing an offset like this on a rim that has offset spoke hole drilling? Any advice on a great shop to go to for the change if it’s recommended would be appreciated.

Yhanks everybody!

I have that bike and just dished a pair of Roval Wheels for it. It's a minimal correction. Basically de-tension the DS by 3 or 4 turns and tighten the other side. As long as the spokes have enough room to adjust that much you won't need to do anything else. If the spokes stop turning before it moves over enough that's another conversation.

I guess my question would be if the hub width with the AI offset are 142 or 148?
2021 and up on the Scalpel is boost. I heard that if you have the universal derailer hanger rear triangle then there’s no AI offset at all so the boost 148 is 3 mm offset and the 142 is six offset. My rear wheel is boost for heat as is the bike.

The stock Cannondale wheels are normal wheels dished offset, they don't use anything proprietary.
Understood. I'm just thinking back to 2016 when the switch occurred from old Scalpel 29 to Scalplel FSi. My SScalpel is 12x142 rear spacing. Was the FSi 142 with Ai offset or 148 with Ai offset?

Edit:

Looks like that answers my question.

I’m likely overthinking this. From the little I’ve read on the interwebs people prefer to use a symmetrical wheel if building a wheel from scratch. Reserve wheels doesn’t mention Ai offset on their website. I’m just trying to ensure the change can be done safely. I’m 220lbs and prefer my kit to stay durable.

If you actually wanted to do that, flip the rim around.

I’ve also heard that mentioned. Reserve already does that front to rear AFAIK. Flip it the other way round and offset the offset lol.

I guess technically to keep the same concept, you’d run a symmetrical rim dished. Because then the one side would still be asymmetrical. Running an asymmetrical rim dished offset essentially makes it normal 🫨🫨👀

Guess I don’t have to worry….

Reserve Wheels Response:

Hello Gary,

Thanks for reaching out! Yes, your RSV wheels can be set up with the 3 mm NDS configuration to dish correctly to your bike—no worries at all. When you have them tensioned, they can be brought back to the same specifications as before. You can find all the information you need in our tech docs through this link.

Please let me know if you have anymore questions.

This is my Buddy Murray. He's a great guy.

If you do even 1/2 turns releasing the drive side and tensioning the nd, you should center the rim over the hub flanges in about 3 whole turns. I've done it trailside in fact.
I don’t trust myself to do anything wheel related. To me it’s magic. Can you recommend anyone in the 07735 (Keyport) area?
