I thought this might interest some of the adventurers and adrenaline seekers in the group:
Whitewater Kayaking Instructional weekend – June 16-18 on the Delaware River. Organized through the AMC (Appalachian Mountain Club). I will be one of the instructors, along with a few of other whitewater kayaker-mountain biker friends. Learn something completely new in a safe environment, enjoy campfires, happy hours, camping, group dinners, good people and lots of laughs. Feel free to reach out with any questions.

My kayaking failure in the Rockaway river, need advice

This post turned out more epic than I thought, here is the tl;dr: Tried to kayak the local Rockaway river, was fun, short, then wiped-out, then manhandled by the current while still holding the paddles till I got ashore. How do I avoid/better handle these failures next time...
