looking for a DH/FR full suspension bike.

budget is under $1000 preferably closer to $600.

im kinda short (5'8") and i prefer a smaller bike so i'm looking for a small frame bike 14"-15"

i also weigh around 200lbs so need suspension strong enough to carry my fat ass around 😀

im located in clifton:getsome: so closer location is always good

planning on riding diablo and platty this year but cant do it with my HT

any info/help/links would be appreciated. planning on makin purchase within 2 weeks

That's a tough price range but it can be done. At 5'8" and 200 lbs I would go with a medium though. Unfortunately I have nothing left to offer but if you search someone probably has an old DH bike lying in the garage that they want to unload. Be prepared for a lot of fixing. One season DH bikes usually require a 2-3 hundred to get them rolling properly again. It is a very expensive game.

I bought mine for 900$, fantastic bike (Giant DH comp), but I ended up replacing the linkage ($140) as well as all the bearings ($4) and the shock ($300-500). I also got a gnarly paint job on it, looks brand new and amazing 😛. In the end it's about $1500 for a bike I love with really nice parts. $600 is going to be really tough, check out pinkbike, like dhsean said be prepared for fixing.

I believe I have what you need for the right price. Yeti asx in Real good shape that has not ever taken big hits as I am 58 yrs old. rode at blue mtn as an all mtn bike. Ready to ride! No repairs needed. Exellent components.Call me for all the details. Tony 914-907-9256

Don't know how familiar you are with higher end bikes. But both of these do not need maintenance, less then 2 months riding time. Only way to really tell is in person if your interested.

both these bikes are beautiful but they are out of budget and too big. i know higher end bikes are big coin but i will not spend more than $1,000 on a bike this year. i really would like a smaller bike so it would be easier to throw around. but thanks for the offers

anyone else got anything? i know somebody's gotta have a bike that they need to get rid of within my budget

I've got an 02 Specialized BigHit that I'm willing to let go for $800. It has a rebuilt Marzzochi Shiver. The bike is in great shape you would just need to get a stiffer spring for the rear.

purchased a bike today

thanks everyone for the help with looking for a bike. picked up littleorphanfunkhouser's big hit today😀. badass ride! especially for the price. diablo here we come:getsome:
