Late 2010:

Norm secretly meets with the Allamuchy BSA representatives and they agree to bring back the Allamuchy race. The excitement from the BSA camp is palpable. Norm goes home and looks up "palpable" in the dictionary.

August, 2010:

There is no Allamuchy race. The world is saddened by this.

August, 2009:

Norm puts together a super team, consisting of himself, Fred, and the 2 Bills. They are wining the race when the Epic Rains fall, and the race is canceled after 11-12 hours. Team MTBNJ takes home the elite team crown, albeit it with an asterisk. Norm vomits after his double night laps in the rain. Seriously.

August, 2008:

Norm sits this one out, and by all accounts this is the most enjoyable course in the history of the race.

August, 2007:

Once again, Norm registers as a solo, and this time the oppressive heat cuts him off at 3 laps. Then the epic rains fall. Again.

August, 2006:

A glutton for punishment, Norm comes back but races as a solo. He does better, but the rains get the best of the situation again and he does not press through the night. This is all well and good because as more or less a weekend warrior, riding any length of hours more than 2-3 at a time is pressing one's luck.

August, 2005:

Norm participates in his very first 24 Hours of Allamuchy race, along with old college roommate and current teammate Woody. He draws 4th, as he is the new guy. In the dead middle of the night he is called on to ride his first night lap ever. Here Norm has his very first taste of the epic night Allamuchy Rains. The lap takes 2 hours, and he refuses to get on his bike again after that.
