The Queen got a neo-classic Convertible

att.net? Should have just given them your AIM screenname.

I'm claiming it is a classic address.

As my primary client is/was ATT, it does show some level of support (i'm sticking with that explanation)

An unrelated, but I think amusing, anecdote relating to ATT domain names. I once got stuck in a conversation with a local deli owner about how he was involved in one of the earliest "cyber squatting" cases when he purchased the domain "attphonecard.com" (I might have the URL slightly wrong). He either used it or intended to use it as a phone sex line. The "ATT" stood for "All Tight T*t*". Not sure how the case ended, but there were some articles about it the last time I searched. I'm mostly glad that someone else bought the deli so that I don't have to talk to him anymore.

So the bill is wrong? FL tax is on cost of car only - no fees.

really, so they have a fee cap?
since i'd be willing to pay a $5000 prep fee to lower the cost of the car by $5k, and save the tax.
which is also why we pay tax on shipping and handling charges

otoh - when you turn in a car, it is deducted before figuring tax.
so you can mess with the numbers that way too.

@Patrick

I looked at the dealership site. Judging by their inventory, they have access to NJ temp tags. They are trying to skirt around the advertised $0 BAT dealer fee. That, or they think they can wholesale the car for more than you paid for it and this gives them time to look into it deeper and sell it out from under you. I would contact BAT and have them intervene if it's not already resolved.

No kidding. Advertised dealer fee: $0. Actual dealer fee: $898 of BS + tags.

The price was not super low based on recent auctions.

no clue on fee cap. Would be nice to be able to negotiate prices - the last 3 new cars we bought were msrp - take it or leave it. I know - Doug Heffernan says the sticker price is the sucker price, but with some cars, that's the way it is.

sucker.

negotiate something else - two years of oil changes?
the glass warranty
rim replacement
no doc fee.

i'll sign right now if you can give me..... know they are commission based, and if you come back on a day they are not there, they are screwed.
in fact ask them which day they work - like you want to deal with them. later tell them some other day is more convenient for you.

or just take @Carson with you.

Well duh that's always the case. I was referring to the cost of the car - not all the ancillaries. Most of what you described is chump change anywho!

so you think you are getting 10% off a new car they can sell at any time mid model year?

try this

Looking like a monday delivery on the car.
They use some sort of reverse bidding for the shipper, and they can't pick the time/date down to the half day.
(this also sounds like bs.) I'm not available until sunday afternoon, after the group ride, so.....

So far:
paint correction/chip fix - this fall?
Lug nuts/bolts - There is a stud conversion kit - if i do new wheels at some point in the future, that may be on the table.
New top - it looks kinda ratty in the pics. $500 and a half day work. there are some other items to be replaced when doing it - we'll see.
Air vents - get some sort of grill on there - i'm going to have to clean-out anything accumulated
modern infotainment - b/u camera (idky), usb ports - this is going to take a day or so.
Headlights - so many options. both cosmetic and performance oriented.
Bumperette delete - gotta go. Seems some sort of bike rack could be incorporated here. but nah.
Shorten the shift lever - wtf were they thinking?
Car cover - whatdya think, fitted, or generic?

IMS bearing info - yes, stories of failure at low miles. 10% fail before 90,000.
Assuming i don't hear any weird noises, I'll do the clutch next year, and bearing at the same time.
The motor does not need to be dropped - just pull the trans.
fun stuff - i don't know! under-drive pulleys, better breathing, and exhaust, sport tune. can spend quite a bit for 30hp gain.

yeah cars?

Nothing wrong with the headlights - I like those better than the earlier bug eyes.

No car cover - that's what garages are for. Mine for the GT350 is still in the box.
