Here is a Not DIY

This is a 15hp electric motor - the breaker to it is 80amp 240v -
its purpose in life is to create 3 phase 460v @ 30 amps

It has that broken conduit end, and found itself under water in IDA.
It works, but sounds horrible. I hit the zerks with some grease, but yikes.

3 phase motors are cool.

Anyone know a place that might service the bearings and whatever else is in there?

so you may ask, "What do they need that for?"
Remember that Gelato machine I fixed a few months back.
Yeah, that. So he has a $30k machine with a $5k install so we can have the yumyum in the tumtum 🙂

I wanna say that we used these guys when I was in HVACR, but it's been so long that I'm not 100% sure:

Can you just pull the bearings and replace them and change the fitting? Shouldn't be much more complicated than an alternator.

Sure. But the risk of messing it up is too high.
Like riding a 2x6 laying on the ground vs 8' in the air

Operation Drier Wood complete.
Got some good suggestions, Magic’s was closest to coming to be, but with a 10’ run and only those two 4x4’s to support it, didn’t love it.
Pat’s idea was also an almost, except that fascia is probably structural, and I have to notch the supports to get any purchase, and then it’d just have the same pitch as the roof, so....

Cut away the dead part of the upper tarp, bottom tarp was pristine, so threaded a 6’ threaded rod through the grommets (with nuts and fender washers), and stuck a few logs proud at the top of the stack to give it overhang.

Bonus: new chopping block.
Noticed woodpeckers on my old one- never a good sign, and the top was getting soft.
So with the help of a great neighbor, snagged a nice new chopper.
Will treat the bottom with that wood rot penetrating stuff, should make it basically petrified, then just level it and I should be set for a few more years.

Out with the old

It’s a monster. Full of gravity too.

Took advantage of the warmer weather to replace the other matching light fixture under the porch. Didn’t matter it was raining and now I knew which circuit breaker it was since I labeled it.

Forgot to snap pic of old one hanging but this this really did look like crap.

I was proud of myself I figured to hang the fixture up off the chain hook so I could measure and cut the wiring to size but then dumbass I forgot to slide on the base cover before I finished the wiring so I had to take it apart and put it back together.

Looks much nicer and wife approved since it didn’t sit in the garage in the box for 2 months. And I didn’t tell her I was going to do it today.

Busy weekend….

Got 7 of the circuits in the sub panel all done. 2 were already done, and the final 2 are the outlets for each bedroom. Working with 12 guage wire instead of 14 guage can e.a.b.o.d.

Also got the hallway and laundry room ceilings painted w/2 coats, and the walls w/1 coat so far.

Awesome work.

Totally wish I had hired you to put in and label my electric panel back in 2003

Always nice when you have to take the saw to a brand new vanity. In the end, turned out nice even though the p trap is still leaking (got a new gasket today). Lucked out and was able to just move the junction box over for the light, even though it should be higher.

Unintentional selfie trying to see where a leak is happening

Oh man I have some flashbacks to doing my bathroom. The new/used vanity I bought didn’t have a backing and I was lucky everything fit without having to cut anything.

But damn if it didn’t take me 3 trips to the plumbing supply store and at least 3-4 times taking the drain apart and putting it back together before everything finally stopped leaking. And I have the same flex pipe under there too cause nothing would line up by like 1/4 inch.

It is leaking through the threads of your drain lock nut. Actually between the rubber bung and the threads of the tail piece. Add some tough stuff to the threads.
Signed
My best guess
I wrapped all the connections with Teflon tape and it worked perfect. Felt like I was working on the pool.
