Things that make you frown :(

The world. They is the world.

Now here's some next level frown shit.
I usually try to stay away from this thread, and focus on the positive, and was not going to post up but this burned my ass so bad it's still steaming. Maybe typing it out will help. Doubtful.

I posted awhile back in DIY that my kids and I handcrafted a replacement backboard for their BBall hoop. Well it came out swell, and I painted a nice red goal rectangle on it since youze saw it last, and got it all back up and running. Kids having fun on the dead end street, and we wheel it over to our yard and lay it down when done. It's a heavy MF, but we put it away every time, as opposed to those neighbors that just leave it up on the curb all the time, forever.

Go out there yesterday afternoon to set it up, because kids were bored inside, and some bottom feeding filthy scumbag has made off with the hoop. Gone. Stealing from kids.
I wonder how they even got it loaded up without disassembly, it was pretty unwieldy. Maybe they sold it for a hit and OD'd and karma wins again. Second hand rebuilt hoop got me all personally involved and now wishing bad on people...WTF.

Oh well, at least the kids got to see how it came out and even played on it a few times. Maybe they learned something important about the world too.

How 'bout a Fresca?

Is this just a Jersey thing, or has there been a rise in scumbaggery everywhere? Apparently there are no repercussions for this type of petty stuff around here since jails are apparently full and when these people are caught, they never return for their summons. In my town they're now up to breaking into your car in broad daylight, I get to watch Ring and/or other video postings every day. They drive up, run up to the car, rifle through it, and take off. I jogged by one house at noon the other day about 10min after one happened happened. I think the only way it slows is if these guys start catching beat-downs by pissed off home owners or get mauled by someone's Rottweiler. Oh, and maybe people start locking their car doors too, I think they forget where they live.

Too much widespread opinions “I am entitled”and “Society owes me a living.” “Bring on the Stimulus!” even among those that are not subhuman scum.

Sorry but I disagree, if you (impersonal) enter another person private property to steal stuff you (still impersonal) are subhuman scum. Period. It's not like they 'needed' a hoop for they children to survive starvation like some enlightened congress woman would have you believe...

Thank goodness you keep your bikes in a safe place. Or maybe that's what they were looking for and didn't want to leave empty handed.

Just replying in ref to Brainstorm’s observation that the increased scumbaggery could be a Jersey ting.

@Mtbdog
True that. Obviously Edison is now Subhuman Scum Central. I am literally scowling at every person and every car coming down the street.

Getting mocked for making a quite friendly and tame PSA about freeze/thaw in a local Strava group.

Kinda sad that's their reaction. What can you do I guess.
I had the same thing in a FB group and was asked if I was the trail police. The thread got deleted before I was able to respond with the proper amount of snarkiness. I guess the mods in that group do know s**t about not bragging about riding in mud…

I have a portable hoop you can have it you want. It’s old but still in pretty good shape. Bought it when Herman’s went out of business. It has 450lbs of sand in in the base so you would need a pickup.

As an admin on one of those pages, it is soooooooooooo incredibly hard to keep up with that sh!t. Some days, it's literally a full time job dealing with "six mile mud" posts and I just gotta let some things go for my own sanity.

Slightly related... I used to use my name on my FB account but I switched to just my initials "JR" and I get so much less sh!t from people now about moderating posts and adding comments. That alone tells you a lot about people on social media.

Not sure I'm keeping it, so no sense cutting it. Besides, the frame is going to break at some point.....
note how chain has shaved off the sidewall.

You also posted DG's feet w/o permission. You know how he is w/o permission.
Who do you think you’re kidding?!?! LOL For some weird reason I pictured you being buried (in 100 years) wearing your yellow tri-suit and riding your beloved framed, like that guy from Ohio and his ‘67 Harley!

😀 - good call, again my horrible writing style.

Not keeping the fork. I'll make jewelry and wall art out of the frame, then buy the exact same one. Maybe in black the next time.
