I wanted a fast rolling all conditions gravel tire. When these arive 3 of my bikes will have Pirelli bike tires.

Welp. Took the plunge and ordered a frameset (after some words of encouragement from @The Kalmyk). I have a wheelset sitting around that's good for this build cutting the cost by a decent amount.

All in I'll probably be around $1500 built up (Ultegra hydraulic build). Should be a pretty kickass commuter/bikepacking rig.

Looks like the Honzo ST project is going to be a 12 speed, finally managed to locate a rear XT derailleur compatible woth the 10/51 cassette.

Moving from XT/XTR shifters to SLX. Call me crazy but I prefer the butter smooth shifting feel of SLX vs the on-off short throw switch of the XT/XTR.

Man I been on sram and microshift for so long I forgot how much more I like shimano shifters better. We rented bikes at sedona that had shimano six and I was like oh yeah! Thankfully my rise came with them.
