But was it really the shoes? Kipchoge was already the world record holder knocking on the door of that time and the event was organized specifically to break the 1:59 barrier. The course had barely any elevation change, he had 41 pacers taking turns each lap to pull him, and food and water given to him via bike as he ran. Either way, breaking 1:59 is insane because Kipchoge himself is a heck of a motor.

You asked and it's here

I built one of the new auto shift monsters Friday. It sucks so bad...

Elaborate? "Sucks so bad..." because it's not aimed towards traditional cyclists or because it really doesn't work well?

The setup to dial it in is significantly more elaborate than any human that would be interested in this bike could possibly deal with. I can't get Vado or Levo Customers to use the App that dials in and updates their bike. They even went so far as to remove the handlebar remote to adjust assist modes from the Como because that customer wouldn't know how to use it. It does come with a Garmin Varia tail light but that just beeps the whole time you're riding so the bike sounds broken. See above post about bikes that make noise.

As someone who has yet to link the AXS app to either of the AXS derailleurs I have, I suppose I can understand... although at 52, I'm still amazed I managed to get the RD and the controller to link up.

Could the target market for this bike be a more tech-savvy user more inclined to control everything from their phone?

I don't think this bike is aimed at anyone under 65. Punk GenZ App kids aren't dropping 7k on anything.
