Winter Gear ??

Stupid question. I fell in love with MTB riding a little late going into the winter. Do you still find it fun to ride in the cold weather? And how do you dress to stay warm?

Many on here ride year round, myself included. And yes it's still fun.

How to dress? Go down this rabbit hole.

And, don't pay attention to anything that @rick81721 posts in this thread.

Thank you. That’s perfect. That’s exactly what I was looking for. Everyone I speak to say I must be crazy for still riding in the cold. Oh wells….

Winter riding is great. It takes awhile before we have real snow, the hikers and fat bikers get out quickly to create paths. There was only one or two weeks where the ice made riding impossible. The TSLA Men's Thermal Windproof Cycling Pants on amazon are great (and the price is right).

There’s no bad weather just bad clothing choices.

Seriously tho I’m one of those people that ride all year round and more on the road then the trails. It take a bit of fine tuning to see what works for you as everyone is a little different when it comes to getting sweaty or cold hands feet etc.

General just stay away from cotton baselayers and read up a bit online about how to layer up. In the beginning get a few things on Amazon or Walmart and experiment layering up. Chemical warmers inside gloves and shoes are one of many tricks you will hear about.

And yes just ignore snowbird @rick81721 he thinks anything below 70F is a winter storm warning.

And @jimvreeland is part Eskimo

I definitely ride in the winter, layers are key.
I like some high quality wool base layers and go from there.
The chemical toe warmers are fantastic.
Go to a good bike shop and check out some of the winter gear just to get an idea of what's out there.
