Piggybacking off this, high POE loud hubs are overhyped imo. Makes me feel like I'm some kid with a fart cannon exhaust on my Civic 😂1,000,000 POE hubs

That’s my gravel bike 😎Says the guys that runs 130mm bars with aero bar on his SS 😆
Agree. Ironically, if your free hub is super loud, it more than likely needs to be serviced and greased.Piggybacking off this, high POE loud hubs are overhyped imo. Makes me feel like I'm some kid with a fart cannon exhaust on my Civic 😂
This thread has "February" written all over it.

How much?
Absolutely not overrated. One of the only noticeable upgrades I have seen on a bike. If you ride fast and flow, they are not so much of a big deal, but if you write a lot of technical rocks, or twisties like allaire then they r a huge improvement. Being able to ratchet in the rocks is very valuable.Piggybacking off this, high POE loud hubs are overhyped imo. Makes me feel like I'm some kid with a fart cannon exhaust on my Civic 😂
I agree, higher than like basic stock DT 3 pawl hubs (which is around 18 poe last I checked) is definitely useful. I appreciate being able to ratchet on tight technical climbs and twisties. There does reach a limit though, where you're just burning efficiency for noise.Absolutely not overrated. One of the only noticeable upgrades I have seen on a bike. You’re also giving up reliability if you’re using DT SWISS.There does reach a limit though, where you're just burning efficiency for noise.
Momentum is lost if pedsls not engaged bro.POE might be the most overhyped trend. Unless you’re actively putting trials lines into your trail riding it’s super overkill. It’s called “momentum” friends, find it.
Aren't you always pimping I9s?POE might be the most overhyped trend. Unless you’re actively putting trials lines into your trail riding it’s super overkill. It’s called “momentum” friends, find it.
$157 online. Reviews are meh. Too bad, they look like a good option.$200.
Eh I've never had trouble with mine, but I'm sure ymmvYou’re also giving up reliability if you’re using DT SWISS.

Sprag clutch or go home lol.
I was always about high POE because I was pretty much always SS, now IDGaS hahaha!
I meant the higher poe dtSwiss. The 36t on a dt350 is the Toyota Camry of hubs.Eh I've never had trouble with mine, but I'm sure ymmv
In fairness I have the super basic 3 pawl from 2018 lol, if mine breaks there's something horribly wrong with their QC.I meant the higher poe dtSwiss. The 36t on a dt350 is the Toyota Camry of hubs.
I had the 3 pawl 370. They had an issue with the drive ring stripping the threads straight out of the hub.In fairness I have the super basic 3 pawl from 2018 lol, if mine breaks there's something horribly wrong with their QC.
