Most overhyped bike trend?

This thread has "February" written all over it.

And it’s December!! But now that Zwift is a thing no one will ask about shoes ever again.

If they do, just copy/paste this photo.

Piggybacking off this, high POE loud hubs are overhyped imo. Makes me feel like I'm some kid with a fart cannon exhaust on my Civic 😂
Absolutely not overrated. One of the only noticeable upgrades I have seen on a bike. If you ride fast and flow, they are not so much of a big deal, but if you write a lot of technical rocks, or twisties like allaire then they r a huge improvement. Being able to ratchet in the rocks is very valuable.

I agree, higher than like basic stock DT 3 pawl hubs (which is around 18 poe last I checked) is definitely useful. I appreciate being able to ratchet on tight technical climbs and twisties. There does reach a limit though, where you're just burning efficiency for noise.

And the noise thing I think is pretty personal, I appreciated that other trail users would hear me coming. But at the same time it got annoying listening to it every time I got off the gas.

POE might be the most overhyped trend. Unless you’re actively putting trials lines into your trail riding it’s super overkill. It’s called “momentum” friends, find it.

Aren't you always pimping I9s?
Sprag clutch or go home lol.
I was always about high POE because I was pretty much always SS, now IDGaS hahaha!

Is the 54T issue related to the old star ratchet or to the new EXP, which seems to have other issues as well? DT (not @Dave Taylor) initially did not issue 54T ratchet on EXP but I believe it does now. I would think maintenance and mileage make a difference, it definitely dies for me as I never had any issue with the 54T…

…I also rarely ride them!
