Things that make you frown :(

I confused GenX with GenZ...sorry. Not that there's any lack of dumbness in my own generation, as I just proved myself...
6 out of 7 members of Gen X here can hold their own with anything that comes our way. But that 7th one, he really breaks the mold.

I am deeply confused now, I don't know if that was supposed to be a compliment, an offense or if it had absolutely nothing to do with me.

Just to put things in perspective....

Young accounting employee, after going back and forth within the IT department looking for who knows what, finally comes to my office and..

GenXZ: eh, my phone doesn't work...

Me:I'm assuming the Company phone, yes?

GenXZ: eh, I guess, I was was using mine before and it worked.

Me: Ah, Ok. Whatever. What happens to be the problem?

GenXZ: I can't get in...

Me: in what, the phone, your e-mail, Teams ? Can you be a little bit more specific? You get an error message and it says what?

GenXZ: eh, mail...

Me: what happens when you log in? Do you get an error message? Also, what is your username so I can check if it is blocked?

GenXZ: username?

Me: yes, what is your username, the one you use to log in to your devices, you know windows on your PC, your e-mail etc.

GenXZ: I don't know.

Me: it's you name dot lastname etc.

and on and on and on....

So be patient with your IT as they probably have to deal with someone like this every day.

In my case on top of my job I have to entertain help desk duties since I'm told we can't afford extra headcount to deal with it, which means I can no longer do my job properly and on new projects because calls like the one above everyday from both the office and 50+ stores across the US.

yeah... i'm well aware that they have to deal with people like that... in fact, i have one of those on my team... he regularly calls IT to help him log in to his laptop... and i had one who was going to put in a ticket for a Microsoft Edge problem (like IT can fix the internet)

i'm just one of those people who ONLY contacts IT when shit hits the fan (like this) but i get your point... there's a certain amount of weeding people out that needs to be done

also--- GEN X RULES 😀

Sorry for the confusion. I used my workplace as an example of how that conversation wouldn't have been the majority of GenXers.

I can’t speak for Leo, but I couldn’t zoom in enough to tell that it was a leak. Hope they fix it right this time around

got it back with the radiator replaced in 24 hours, but the resevoir was halfway empty (well below the min mark) the morning after we picked it up, my wife called (its her car) and got the dealer to send someone up to fill the reservoir back up

cant tell if your busting my balls, or if you really cant see the orange/redish drip of coolant coming off the radiator in the red circle
I couldn't really tell what I was looking at in that picture, hence the question. Also, solely based on comparative visual under the hood observation I would have to trash my car right now as it looks way worse than yours.

It can take some time to purge all the air out but that should have been done correctly.

yea im hoping thats all it was (if this wasnt a warranty job id have done it myself at least it wouldnt have take 3 months for a diagnosis

At least they didn't forget to tighten the drain plug like it happened the first time I had my beloved Eclipse serviced in Florida. Left me stranded with now coolant in the middle of a swamp, I had to walk to a house in the middle of nowhere and ask them if I could use their phone. I wasn't sure if they would shoot me by the time I was halfway through the driveway, they turned out to be a nice older couple instead. That was the reason I started wrenching on my own car, could not trust the cheap shops to do the job right and the dealer was an absolute robbery every time.

What prompted you to have it checked in the first place? I have 2010 Equinox parked in my driveway because when I asked the shop to check for a possible head gasket leak due to the coolant level always being low in spite being refilled, they said there wasn't any problem. Guess what, there was an head gasket leak all right and I found out the heard way which included pushing the car to the nearest gas station on 46, uphill...

low coolant light came on back around memorial day, i put a quart of coolant in then took it in they said pressure test is fine no leak, 'probably an air pocket in the system' (mind you, car is 3.5 years old with 20k+ on it).
we keep checking the coolant as time goes on, it gets low (below min line) so it goes back in, same deal pressure test is fine, tech claims its not low on coolant (tank is full when we got it back, i figure tech filled it up bc he didnt want to do the job on warranty labor rates). Brought it back home tues night, drove it over the weekend, sat wife comes home and says she smells coolant so i go out to look for it figuring i can tell the monkeys whats actually wrong just to get it fixed at this point and its dripping all over the driveway, hence the picture and the post.

so yea we are 4 visits with the dealer for this problem. The real kick in the nuts you ask. . . . there is a TSB for this auxillary radiator cracking and leaking and somehow they didnt bother to inspect it, even tho the TSB matches the symptoms exactly.

all in all this reinforces my fuck dealerships mentality

Geeeez, most techs search for TSB’s almost immediately so they can spend less time diagnosing. Can’t tell you how many times the TSB was done, only to have another part order afterward.

Yea so at least two techs who didn't find it somehow. Radiator had a build of upnof debris on the leaking side including those oak tree seed pods which have been mostly gone for a while now

All these years, I attributed my lower back pain to rheumatoid arthritis/weak core/bike fit/mattress/other. Turns out, scoliosis.

Standing around too long. Back pain.
Races when not in 100% peak form. Back pain.
Walking around. Back pain
Random mornings. Back pain.

It all makes sense now.
