Drones overhead tonight (many)

So I got some pretty reliable info on this last night.

While the drones appear to be following a grid search/travel pattern, they are clearly monitored because they have changed course in response to being spotlighted by patrol cars, NJSP helicopters. They also formed a tight pattern over RVCC and hovered while NJSP was trying to land for a motor vehicle accident on Route 22.

NJSP helicopter followed for hours last week and the drones eventually head east over the open Atlantic. NJSP followed until they were low on fuel and had to turn around. Reliable reports of the biggest drones being Smart-car sized.

The working theory is that they are coming from a ship in international waters, possibly a Chinese cargo vessel.
I mean this is super easy to check all of the state police helicopters always fly with their transponder on... when were they chasing these drones, what date? The one over my house back on the 18th flew from Sommerset airport, into Picatinny, around the area and back...never went near the ocean....

Its easy enough to filter the SP helicopters, they only use a few types.

And if someone is telling you that the SP helicopters are flying around in the dark following drones WITHOUT their transponder on, I call total bullshit.

Agree. No legit aircraft operating under Mode C veil would ever intentionally disable their transponder while under way.

They would show up on primary radar if they are that big - even if they looked like birds, rotors have a signature.
military isn't going to tell us they know what is going on - no doubt they are using it as leverage, or will at the right time.
wonder if they are going to take them out with a laser?
That would be Real Genius....

Apparently people have claimed they were spotted around Camden County yesterday. Someone posted a video on the FB town bitching page. Looks like a plane to me since my house is on the flight path to PHL.

this was the other flight I saw that looked pretty unusual....Army blackhawk flying low and slow from Lakehurst, did a loop in morris/essex county and went back....I would say that is kinda weird...blackhawk flying that low im sure shook alot of houses. maybe it was looking for something....However, military pilots are always looking for an excuse to get more flight hours in...so if someone told them they could go drone hunting, im sure they would be all over it.

I read about the Evesham and cherry Hill spotting. Maybe they're scoping out trump national golf club of the South.

I don't know what day, I'm getting this secondhand. And no, I'm not saying NJSP was flying without transponder on. This is quickly becoming a game of telephone, even amongst local LEOs. So, who the hell knows at this point.

apparently one got too close to hunderdon county....

we'll see how it plays out. I have a friend who was at RV and they closed the area and told everyone to leave.

And there is nothing in the news feed - FB investigation has the crash site on the eagle trail near the fence.

What do we have buzzing around there last night 1900EST @UtahJoe

Apparently someone in the "I Love Hunterdon" FB group posted a video, can anyone get to it? I'm not in that group and it's private.

This whole thread has a similar vibe to the never ending mountain lion debate.

And aliens.

Don’t forget about the six mile bear.

But I agree, this feels a bit different. When the NJSP is out there chasing something down it’s gotta be a legit issue. If it was the WV state police I might stop to think for a minute, but I think our team here in NJ is pretty legit.

I agree it is a bit different. If it was for a non-classified project, like LIDAR survey or something, that info would likely have been released by now. State police could be monitoring and know why they are out there, but again seems weird they wouldn't state "we know about them and why they are here".

For us MTBNJers, the answer may be closer than we think:
