Things that make you frown :(

Wonder if @Carson ever got to drive one of these

I drove on it the next day!
For no reason other than make the border in 20 or so minutes.
(lived in Boonton, went to school in upstate NY, so rt 202 or 80->17N sucked while I was there!)

It also took away our drag strip/top speed test track from Vreeland ave to montville!

Was @Carson working in Mt lakes then?

I DID!

I drove a bubble back in Mountain Lakes for the few months I was there (it was my FTOs assigned vehicle) and I was assigned a bubble back in Fanwood for about a year. In Fanwood, where the speed limits were all 35 or under. You could put it in drive and just idle around town, bascially. Pulling on to 22 to grab dinner at the diner, and a few shooting responses in Plainfield were the most I ever got to enjoy it. But it was nice to be able to run stationary radar with my legs up across the bench seat.

@Patrick I was in Mountain Lakes in 1997. 287 was done and they were experimenting with the HOV lane at the time. The commute sucked. 287 was completed when I was in high school. There was supposed to be a troop station opened up when the highway opened. That still hasn't happened and it's why you see Passaic Sheriff, Franklin Lakes, and Pompton Plains guys up on the highway at times. It's the NJ Autobahn.

After the bubble back was pulled from service in Fanwood (it had the famous LT1 water pump leak that was getting worse), I was assigned to one of these. It drove fine but didn't have a cage, so I quickly got reassigned to a Crown Vic because I was annoying the senior guys with arrests.

The oldest cop car I drove was a square back Caprice in pursuit driving in the academy. I set the EVOC course record for the class in it.

I learned to drive on an 85 Caprice Classic. That boat was YUUUUUUUUGGGGGGEEEEEEEEEE but she would get up to speed!

Was riding out in long valley/Califon this afternoon and came up a hill to the sound of chainsaws.

Saw two young kids maybe late teens working a chainsaw and a skid loader on a farm property that seems to be undergoing a renovation or clean up.

No protective gear on at all not even gloves or eye protection. and one of them was like standing over the log he was cutting in such a way that if there was any kickback he would be eating the blade.

Not wishing any harm just made me so nervous like I don’t want to be close if something bad happens. Hopefully not.

Everyone looking at mother nature when 2nd march shows up

Listening to the sound of an angle grinder in the neighbor's garage, knowing that his OCD lawn care season is upon us. 2wks ago it was a 3hr blower session to blow the lawn completely free of anything before the lawn service spray fertilizer season. Literally had his sprinkler going the other day during a well forecasted rain storm. MF'er needs a hobby.

Yeti sells a (stupidly) expensive kit that works really well for that gap for when they give you your 8.

I have one of these on both of my fs bikes. It's allegedly near-universal. Works for my Cannondale Habit and my Santa Cruz Tallboy.
