Anybody want to recommend me a good trail tire?

My minions were too fN heavy on my stumpjumper. So I swapped to a dissector out front and a rekon in the back but neither have much life left. So I’m looking and open

I want something a little more aggressive and durable than a rekon in the back without being an anchor.

I’m not loyal to maxxis either but I can’t mix brands front and rear.

I ride mostly chimney rock/Stephens stuff.

Been happy with the new version of the Forekaster 2.4 on the front of my Pivot T429. Tread pattern looks like the Dissector and Rekon had a baby. Running the Rekon 2.4 on the rear of 3 bikes currently. Make sure the Rekon is dual compound on the rear if riding rocky stuff.
This is what I was leaning towards. My dissector still has a little more life. So maybe the dissector stays on the front and the forekaster can go on the back.

Bike?

I run entirely different tires on my light trail/XC bike (Spot Ryve 115) as I do on my more enduro focused bike (Megatower) for trail riding.

The Pivot came with Dissector 2.4 F/R. Rolled ok, the Forekaster is definitely better. Still have the Dissectors in the spare tire bin.

Agreed on the Forekaster. I'm currently running one on my hardtail and I really like it. More aggressive than the Rekon and less than the DHR2 I had previously.

I'm interested in this too. I have a Rekon rear and 2.6 DHF in the front, It feels like a tank. Wanted to go Forkaster front, but can't find them in tan walls, may do a Rekon in the front also...

The new forekaster is ok, but i found it to be a bit slippy on rocks and also see it as a rear tire. It is like a nobby nic but doesnt corner as well.

Rekon is good but those transition knobs wear crazy fast.

What about specilized t7 ground control up front or front and rear. Could do a t7 renegade in the rear to be more racey

For the specialized tires, the butcher front and eliminator rear was a good combo and both were ~900g (Correction: 1080 front and 960 rear) I wound up switching out the butcher because I was looking for more confidence in the super dry stuff we had last summer, but otherwise it performed well.

I thought they were just so heavy that you’d only want to ride on an ebike. I could be wrong
You are spot on, they are DH tires. Look at these weights:

My mind hurts that my typical tire answer of Assegai/DHR2 doesn't apply here.
Assegai/dh2 is a super aggro. I love the dhf but the dhr2 is so slow rolling for regular trail riding.

I feel like @Jeremy wants a trail lite tyre mostly because he is mentioning tires being heavy. Rekon probably the best bet.
