Non tubeless tires with tubeless rims

As the subject headers says, I've done this for mtbs and fatbikes without issues. But what about gravel and road wheels with much higher pressures?

From what I have read this is a no no. I really don't think this should ever be tried on a road tire at the pressure and speed it is not worth your safety.

In what way? He wants to run non tubeless tires on tubeless rims with a tube in the tire. Not seeing how this would be any more dangerous than any other tubed tire setup.

The big difference for tubeless stuff is the bead tolerances fits are tighter bc they need to hold pressure nothing really structurally different here

Maybe I misunderstood or misread. I thought he was saying running a tubless tire on a non-tubless rim without a tube.

It will either be fine or it will blow out on a high speed descent.

Those clincher tires rely on a hooked rim but it’s not apparent what the rims in question have.

I did the same with old Mavic UST type tubeless rim without anything going wrong but I do recall the fine print saying ‘don’t do that’.
