Where do you ride in the snow?

Where's the good snow at? I tried 6MR this afternoon with lou & bud and it was pants, I had no traction in the dry powder.
With this much snow, find a park that sees a lot of local foot traffic (dog walkers, etc), usually in residential areas (like Saddle River bike path, or Loantaka Brook park, Patriots Path. This usually packs the trail down enough for good traction.

I tried. Couldn't get out of the neighborhood 😩

They plowed the bike path all the way to the entrance at the Livingston Circle.

I just rode around the neighborhood, anything uphill in snow just spins. Downhill in snow is sometimes sketchy as hell. I'll try the canal path later in the week. Usually has good foot traffic and possibly duck into Duke Farms. Also on Bud/Lous

Alpine has a ton of foot traffic and snowshoers. The guys from Tenafly Bicycle Workshop sometimes go in and snowshoe the trails too. It's one of the best fatbiking spots in northern NJ.

It's still going to be slow going for a few days because the snow is deep and soft. It should be fantastic by the weekend ...if you can stand the frigid temps.
