Wawayanda conditions

Robson we met afew times most notably at ringwood on the ice when you slid into that rock with your eye. Anyway I was thinking of going to JH tomorrow . what do you think the conditions will be like and do you know your way around there I can't seem to find a map. Would you like to join us?

Rayder, JH is one place I would definitely avoid after yesterday's rain.
Any other time, I'd gladly give you a tour.

Though I haven't checked them out, Ringwood would have fared much better and Waywayanda to a lesser extent. Maybe I'll get a chance to check it out later.

Let's wait for info on conditions. If Wawayanda is not so good then we can go to Ringwood.

Yes, I remember. We did few rides together🙂

Probably a wise decision.
Unless I get a cancellation from my student, my time is too limited to travel.

I may do the btcnj time trial tomorrow, though I'm really in no condition this week. Ah, what the heck, I'll show impressive gains at the next one😉 If you want to see what you can do on your sweet roadie(or if you just want to oogle mine), call me and we'll get you set up.

Also remember gang, there is a TM at Waywayanda tomorrow.
And trailwork has a funny way of making the trails rideable real quick.
Must be the karma.

I'll be at the boat launch lot around noon leading a ride following the trailwork, which will be off of Double Pond if you're driving a distance (like me!) and would like to chip in and join the work in progress.

Conditions at Wawayanda are good. The main trails are dry even after the rain. We rode there today and must say everything that has been cleared from ice storm damage is in great shape.

rode there today for the first time. pretty dry considering the amount of rain previously. anyways, there are some really fun trails there. that jims bridge thing was great too. we also rode the blue wingnut(?) trail. would have been killer if it were cleared, but there was a huge amount of blowdown on it. great ride. looking forward to the race.

Hmmmm.....
Rob? What are you up for?

Waywayanda, road, or Sprain?

I rode Sprain today. I must say it was fun but very technical ride. Takes some skills to go through...got stopped few times plus one spill😱 I need to check my rear wheel now😡

One word

ICE!!

I rode the 09 race loop today. It only took... 3 HOURS! I would say 70% of the trail was ice. All the fire road trails had a least an inch if ice on them. All the single track was snow covered which was fun but slow. I guess studded tires would have helped🙄 It looks like it will take a while for this place to thaw out.

15 miles this morning, stayed off the race course. Not much ice, bunch of trails were even down to the leaves, though some were a 4"snow fest. No studs, one gear, no sus😀. But you are right, hasn't been much above freezing up here for the past month and a half. Mid March before every bit of ice is gone.

Wife and wandered over here as we were in the area today. Mostly rode the race course, conditions are stellar. Few wet spots but mostly hero dirt. Can never get enough of this place especially SS rigid. Bear response was out and about but didn't run across any...

I rode for over 4 hours at Waway on Friday and did not see anyone other than my group. It does not seem to get much traffic for such a nice park. The ferns and prickers on tombstone have almost overgrown the trail. Did see a lot of fresh bear poop too.🙂

Rode much of the racecourse along with some southern trails yesterday and everything was in great shape.

Did see a sow with two cubs too!
