Personal experiences with stans tubeless tire kit

+2 it's good. Just FYI, converting non tubless tires is ok for light weights, but Clydes should use Tubless ready or UST tires based on my own experience. You should also check the Stan's site for compatability issues, the Stans had a funky reaction with Nevegals.

+3 on its good...setup was pretty easy and the kit comes with everything you need...customer service and the instuctional video were very helpful

IMO the hardest part of the process is getting yourself to drill a hole in your rim

I converted mine just last week. Didnt need to drill out the rim. Also, I'd highly recommend having a compressor to fill the tires initially. It'll save you a lot of cursing. lol

Not to highjack this, but did anyone ever use Stan’s downhill kit? I will be trying to convert Mavic 729 rims next week.:hmmm:

works great both on both my bikes I used Stan's. Had 2 thorn incidents on the Top Fuel. The trick is to quickly find the hissing and rotate the puncture site down to get the goo to fill in the leak. The diSSent has the Conversion kit has been fine so far.

just did completed this past weekend - a very good product: i don't have a tremedoous amount of experience monkeying around fixing my bikes, i followed the directions, watched the video from the site and it was easy

Sorry to hijack, but what kind of funky reaction? I'm running Nevegals and was looking to go tubeless with Stan's.

The Stans actually seemed to eat the rubber, or degrade it from the inside.

Wow, that's a little concerning.

Yeah, I was a little shocked about it myself. Kenda claims that you should NOT use any sealant with their tires....maybe that's why.:hmmm: I would look into tires that are UST or TCS rated. I use the Weirwolf TCS tires and have had great luck with them.

That's never happened to me. Been running nevs for over a year now.

It's never happened to me either but I saw it on a friends Nevegal's once. The rubber just deteriorated from the inside. It happened very quicky too - like within the first week or two. If you make it past that point, you're probably fine.
