white clay

Anybody been down here lately? Thinking of heading down on Friday, 5/17, depending on the weather.

Wow that was fun. Thanks for all the intel in the prior posts, made for a much better experience then going in blind.

I parked at Middle Run day use area and worked my was up into White Clay through the Lenape, Bryan's Field and Whitley Farm trails. Missed the turnoff for David English trail so worked my was back down to Middle run and then hit the Snow Goose Trail area. I love the flow of the place. Trails are excellently maintained and marked. I may have to make this a monthly trip, its closer than a lot of the N. Jersey Trails for me.

There is also a Chipotle about 5 or so minutes from the parking lot so it was a nice way to end the day in Delaware.

next time make sure you hit david english. i prefer riding it clockwise. snow goose is such a fun trail, i always ride it in each direction when i'm there.

hittin' Middle Run in the morning with a group of 4, haven't been there since March.....so stoked

Thinking of riding tomorrow

Has anyone been out here after heavy rain? Was there heavy rain there? Are the trails ridable right now or does this place turn into a swamp like 6 mile? I was thinking about going to hit it tomorrow with a few bros.

If they got rain. It will likely be a mess. Check trailspinners.org for conditions.

Spur of the moment trip to White Clay

Wanting to take a trip out there tomorrow. Anyone know how the trail conditions are and how to get there?

Trail conditions will be pristine after this week.

To get there: Route 95 South to 495 South (coming from Jersey, you may need to take just 295 South) back onto 95 South. Take exit for Route 273 West (Exit 3B). Take right onto Route 2 (before University of Delaware -- if you reach UD, you went too far.) Off Route 2, take left turn onto Route 72. Follow Route 72 to Possum Park Road on RIGHT (keep your eyes open -- it's not a main road.) Take Possum Park Road down to dirt road entrance to Middle Run Park on the LEFT. Park there (it connects to all of White Clay without charging you for parking because it's not a state park like White Clay. Technically, they are the same park. but they just differentiate them based on the entrance you use. Middle Run trailhead is right next to the parking lot and opens up to everything else and is very well marked.)

Thanks 1Speed.
I'm going by what's above.

Making our way out there now. Will post pics later.

wow...Hit this up with Al yesterday, first time there, we rode as much of it as we could. Dying to go back already, will bring gopro and more ppl that have not been there. Had lots o fun.

Conditions were great save for a couple of puddles, people seemed cool. This place is big fun. We parked in that same lot at 7am and we were alone completely for the first hour or more in MR and Judge Morris...didn't start seeing riders until we went up towards WC. Lot was crowded when we left just before noon.

Maprika is the greatest thing ever. If it wasn't for that, we'd still be lost out there. Trails are marked great, but require that "unofficial" map. Maprika showed us exactly where we were on that map and made it fun by ensuring we didn't make too many wrong turns.

If you have not been there....make the trip. Easy drive, great go fast trails, climbing, lots o flow and a little tech here and there to keep things interesting.

Unless I can already do this through strava (couldn't figure out how to), can I get the route from you to upload to my GPS? Or does someone know how I can do it through strava? I have only been to WC a few times and I always end up looping back on the same trails so this route would be super helpful 🙂 Thanks!
