"6 Mile Part 2 - Canal Side Scouting Mission

A lot of trail erosion on the Red Trail but the ground was pretty solid. The White Trail was in pretty good shape "

maybe ok by the end of the day today? these rides were yesterday...

@clarkenstein . Do you follow/stalk those guys regularly, or is it possible to search Strava for activities occurring in a certain area/location on a specific day or timeframe? Thanks!

pick a segment, look at detailed results. you can then sort by the time period, like best results in the past week.

for example: the past week of a segment in strava:
https://www.strava.com/segments/1626835?filter=overall

then click on "All-Time" and sort by the week or whatever you are looking for.

It was ridable yesterday morning with a couple of mud spots to walk through. Not sure how much rain the area got last night.

Just got back. Rode from canal lot to the concrete bridge and back, blue, white and red. Primo conditions. Lots of ruts and erosion throughout though. The only mud was the giant mud pit on white near jaques thats always there. The concrete bridge is still flooded with a tree down on top. It looked like you can get to the other side but we didn't try.

Edit- I never take the short cut trail but today I did, it's a little sloppy but passable. All in all, not bad.

Six Mile was golden today. As others have said, the trail is rutted in some areas (mostly out in the open field areas), but I saw more fat bikes than skinny tire bikes so the ruts are already being beaten into submission. Any wet areas were passable and are already in much better shape than they were earlier in the week.

The concrete bridge on the rt 27 side of the park is f'd. I spent a little time checking it out today and it actually looks like it cracked in the middle and sunk and it has basically formed a dam. You can walk over on some downed trees and some boards that were put in place. Also the small wooden bridge on the Blue Trail crossing the stream near Blackwell Mills Rd is just gone.

The worst part about the area near the concrete bride is that the grassy area near the pond is beat to shit. I don't know if the landowner's property extends that close to the river, but if it does, I could see them making a big stink about it. I can't say I would blame them.

I'm going to head out for a ride tomorrow morning. Recommendations on any trails that won't be too much of a mess and enjoyable?

It all rolled pretty nice today. The concrete bridge is flooded but passable if your careful. There is another missing bridge at a stream crossing (I think the road it's next to is middle bush?) I'm sure it's been spoken about, but I'll tell ya. I almost took a bath coming in too hot from the berm side. Be careful.

i'll try to get over there today to clear the concrete bridge. the tubes underneath get clogged, an it does form a damn. where did i put my waders?? maybe catch @Arwen's Mom over there - can't make it until noon or so tho.
hopefully the rain will have passed through.

@jdog i know you're usually out midweek to dig. i'm willing to play hooky to help out, or if you can give an assignment, i'll be glad to dig while i'm out on a ride. in the meantime, i'll stay on tree patrol.

unreal what happened over this season.
